204-206 Virginia Avenue

204-206 Virginia Avenue is a charming Victorian 2-unit building located in a Bernal Heights micro-district called Foggy Vistas.
There are two units, each consisting of 2 bedrooms and 1 bath. The lower unit 204, has wall to wall carpet, an open common room with the living/dining area and the kitchen. The bath has a shower over tub. The unit also has access to a shared deck at the rear of the building and a small garden at the front of the building.
The upper unit 206, has hardwood floors in the common rooms and bedrooms. There is a stand-alone wood burning fireplace in the living room. The kitchen has a southern exposure and also has a breakfast/office area.
A shared laundry room is located at the rear of the building on the lower level.
The garage with a cobble stone floor provides additional storage and will accommodate a small car, bikes or motorcycle with additional parking in the driveway.
204-206 Virginia Avenue is located a short distance from shopping and restaurant on Mission Street, as well as MUNI bus lines and easy access to highway 280.
There is expansion potential, so it's perfect for a contractor with imagination.

A Little History About Bernal Heights

Bernal Heights was part of the 1839 Rancho Rincon de las Salinas y Potrero Viejo, a 4,446-acre Mexican land grant awarded to José Cornelio Bernal.
Bernal Heights was first populated primarily by Irish immigrants who farmed the land and ran dairy ranches.
The early commercial corridor of Eugenia Avenue filled in with shops as the pastureland on the hilltop was developed for workers' homes during the rapid rebuilding of the city after the 1906 earthquake.. Some of the tiny earthquake cottages, which the city built to house quake refugees, survive to this day.
In the 1990s, Bernal's pleasant microclimate, modest homes and freeway access to the peninsula and Silicon Valley led to a wave of new residents. Bernal Heights property values have increased as urban professionals replace working-class home owners and renters.
Today's commercial corridor is along Cortland Avenue that runs from Mission Street to Bayshore Avenue.

Information about the history of the Bernal Heights neighborhood has came from Wikipedia.
